October 18, 2018 Dead in the Water co-editor Bruce Shoemaker will participate in a public panel presentation about Lao hydropower issues: "Dams, disaster and ecological justice: hydropower legacies in the Mekong" at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand, 6-8pm.

October 24, 2018 Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Workshop on river/hydropower issues with Cambodian civil society organizations, 9am - noon at Oxfam International office. Invite only, please contact Oxfam or the book editors if interested in attending.

October 29 or 30, 2018 Hanoi, Vietnam - Book launch event to be announced.

November 2, 2018 Yangon, Myanmar. Civil Society Workshop on hydropower issues in Myanmar. Invite-only, please contact Oxfam or Land Core Group if interested.

October 14-15, 2018 Informal workshops/discussions with civil society groups, Chiang Mai, Thailand

October 13, 2018 Bali, Indonesia. Unfortunately, local authorities shut down the Peoples Global Conference Against the World Bank/IMF, the parallel civil society gathering planned to protest the World Bank/IMF and to talk about alternatives models of development. This forced the cancellation of the scheduled discussion of Dead in the Water and World Bank support for large infrastructure in the region.

October 10, 2018 World Bank/IMF Annual General Meeting, Bali, Indonesia. As part of the World Bank's Civil Society Policy Forum, Inclusive Development International and Bank Information Center-Europe sponsored a panel discussion session looking at Nam Theun 2 and sharing findings from Dead in the Water. Book co-editor Bruce Shoemaker and contributing author Kanokwan Manorom both participated, along with Kate Geary as moderator. Despite being invited to participate in the panel, the World Bank refused to have any of its staff participate.

September 20, 2018 Dead in the Water co-editor William Robichaud made a presentation on the book and related issues at a private event in Redding, CA for the "Mekong Funders Network", a coalition of private foundations supporting environmental grant making in the Mekong region.

August 28, 2018 Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Cornell's Southeast Asia Studies Program and Department of Natural Resources will host a joint presentation by Bruce Shoemaker, co-editor of Dead in the Water, at 3:30pm in Fernow Hall, G24.

July 12-13, 2018 Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. While a full book launch will not take place for a couple of months, Carl Middleton, one of the contributing authors for Dead in the Water, will host a "mini-book launch" at a conference "Innovation in Human Rights, Development Studies and Resource Politics". Copies of the book will be available. More info is available here.

April 27, 2018 Center for Southeast Asian Studies, University of Wisconsin, Madison.
